The First Year Blue Wave Pendant was made for the widow who grew up near the sea — or whose husband did — and who has stood on a shoreline in the first year alone trying to decide if the ocean was consoling her or reminding her.
The pendant is a single curling wave frozen in the middle of its crest. Sterling silver arcs around a deep blue crystal drop that sits at the core of the curl — the water inside the wave. Along the top of the crest, tiny CZ stones catch light like sea spray. 18k gold plating warms the silver. The wave is not stylized. It's a specific moment: the second before the wave breaks.
When I imagine you wearing it, I imagine a beach morning in early fall. You walk until your feet are wet. The pendant is cold against your sternum when the wind picks up.
