The First Year Blue Wave Earrings were made for the widow who already wears the Blue Wave Pendant — and who wants the same curl of water on either side of her face.
Each earring is a smaller version of the pendant wave: a curl of sterling silver wrapping around a small blue crystal drop, with tiny CZ stones along the crest. 18k gold plating. The waves hang from lever-back wires so they sit secure — no tugging at the earlobe, no flipping backward. From the front, you see the curl. From the side, you see the drop inside it. Both waves face the same direction on both ears.
When I imagine you wearing them, I imagine leaving the house for the first big outing since the funeral. You put them on without looking in the mirror. Three blocks from home, you catch your reflection in a storefront and see the two small waves turning with your head.
